Selected Families and Individuals

Notes

James Slater

James was a farmer who farmed Baldwin Farm, Newton in his later life. On his second wifes death (Jane Knight) his estate was sold, this included No. 100, 102 and 104 Market Street Dalton, which were sold to the Dalton Co-op. At sometime these houses were knocked down and a new Co-op building built. I think he was reasonably wealthy for his time and appears to be well respected by his peers.
