Entries from the book ‘The Register of Dalton in Furness Part 2 1621-1691’ are as follows...

Baptisms
1676 August 27  James to James of Rownhead
1686 August 1  William son of James
1688 October 7   Abraham son of James of Parke
1691 December 20  George son of James

Burial
1688 January 13  William son of James

I am not sure if all the above children are all to the same James, but for my direct line this does not matter.  What does matter is proving who is the father of Abraham (m.Francis).

We have proven that the last two generations (James m.Jane and Abraham m.Francis) came from Parke, and we now have proof that an Abraham was born a son of James of Parke in 1688, although I have no other evidence to connect this Abraham with Abraham of Parke (m.Francis) I think it is most unlikely that they are different people as the dwelling i.e. Parke, is a common factor.

So James is my great great great great great great great grandfather, and this is as far as my research has ‘proven beyond doubt’.  This gives a direct line back until the mid 1600’s which I am quite proud of establishing.

Research carries on, and recently I have come across data on the internet that supports my theory of who my direct line are back to 1537.  However this is NOT PROVED yet (I wonder if it will ever be) but I do think it is correct.
