Bishops Transcripts (Preston) Burials
John son of James Slater 15 August 1765
Thomas son of James Slater of Newton 28 November 1801
(Without knowing how old the above Thomas was when he died (or other
evidence) I cannot tell if he was the son of James (m.Jane) or James (m.Isabel)
as they were both called James Slater of Newton at some time in their life.)
The will of James (my great great great great great grandfather) shows that he was the previous James (m.Isabel) father as he calls him James Slater of Newton. He also states in his Will that (son) James wife Jane is the daughter of John Bell. A gravestone in Dalton Church Yard for John Bell shows James (m.Isabel) died 29 June 1827 aged 69, which is the same date as shown on James’s (m.Isabel) Will.
